Raquel isn’t over 70. She’ll be 68 on Friday (5th September - she was born in 1940). She does look amazing though. In her day she was unbelievably beautiful and has aged gracefully and I agree that she has probably had lots of work done but it’s been subtley done and she’s not fallen into the ‘grotesque’ look. She looks terrific.

It’s very obvious that she’s had A LOT of work done, but when you see her on screen you can always tell that’s it’s her because of her presence and charisma.
She’s so fierce, love her!

Holy crap! How does anyone think she’s attractive? She would be much more attractive if she didn’t get plastic surgery. I mean, the only bad thing about her face before she had surgery was that her eyebrows were thick, but she could’ve just waxed them. Everyone who has plastic surgery is as ugly as Michael Jackson.

Part of it is good surgery, but part of it is good genes. I think the fact that she is of Mexican heritage is related to her good skin and lack of wrinkles.

She had “maintenance” plastic surgery — surgery for the purpose of keeping her good looks, not augmenting them… unless you’re deluded into believing that beautiful women don’t naturally age like everyone else.

Part of her beauty is the sense to wear age appropriate makeup. As a woman ages, she needs to wear more natural tones that flatter the skin-tone and eye color she was born with rather than follow the fashion fads or hot colors. See how Raquel plays DOWN her laugh lines with a light nude lipstick with just a hint of pink. Likewise, she plays up the brown of her eyes by keepy her eyes light with a smokey plum palette. She allows her expertly colored hair to pick up the color of her eyes. You can see her crows feet under her foundation but that’s Ok - women her age should have crows feet - they’d look weird if they didn’t. She may well haver had some light work done over the years but good genes, common sense make-up and good skin care regime can go a long way! Raquel, you rock and your daughter is probably thanking her lucky stars that she inherited your looks!

Her face looks flawless! She obviously had a brilliant surgeon who refined her face, and maximized her beauty with a non evasive approach.

There are so many incompetent surgeons out there whose techniques are so overdone, they’re doing a disservice to their clients! Toronto is notorious for rotten plastic surgeons!!

Why do you say she LOOKS GREAT FOR HER AGE. Give me a break! She’s a millionaire and gets her old age imperfections fixed when ever she wants to. Duh! Just about anyone who can get face-lifts/plastic surgery on their face and other parts, can look GREAT FOR THEIR AGE too. If they didn’t get all that fixing up done, they’d look their age and maybe even older. So, all of this ‘looks great for her age’ crap, is only due to plastic surgery, PERIOD!! Take CHER for instance. The tabloids always say she is the ‘virtual teenager’. HELLLOOOO….. she has had plastic surgery from head to toe “litteraly”. I saw her in person on a talk show and at least she admits to all of that. She even had a rib taken out so her waist could look smaller in her outfits. Now that is vanity at its most. I used to hate her commercials she used to be in about lifting weights/fitness to have a small waist and to look great. Well, it was not all her hard excercise, it was all her PLASTIC SURGERY and she faked the viewing audience out big time. What a joke. Excercise makes her look good? LOL LOL….when I get 65 maybe I’ll get plastic surgery too, to make me look 45, and then everyone can ‘think’ how gorgeous I look at 65 all on my own from my genes, just like Sophia Loren and Cher and countless others from the Hollywood scene. LOL LOL LOL

I remember way back in the 1960’s, when she was the Mark Eden Bust Developer model, I read that she had had a rib removed to whittle down her waistline.

Miss Welch is a plastic surgery queen, she HAS had a lot of work done.
BUT the work looks fabulous and perfectly natural to me. If you are going to have work done, Miss Welch is an example of how to do it.
Miss Welch looks fantastic for a woman of any age.

raquel is an icon,always has and always will be,her only problem is people who need glasses are making comments about her looks.i’ve sat next to her on a plane and let me tell you she does not need makeup,her skin is flawless,no tell tale signs of plastic surgery or for that matter anything else,pay more attention to messy faces like nicole kidman,now she looks scarey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What I like about Raquel is she has the same features she always did. Her cheeks, lips, and chin are not changed. Her nose is the same. She has the same features she always had. This is not a woman who has altered her appearance. If she came up in this generation she would be altered. Her nose has flared nostrils. This gives her a very unique appearance and it would be gone if she was younger or insecure and if she wanted to look like everyone else. This is good plastic surgery as it didn’t render her unrecognizable or freaky.

Kathy: It is not all plastic surgery by a long shot and if you think that you can not exercise, eat crap, abuse your health & then get plastic surgery to make it all better, you’re wrong. Raquel’s skin is not the result of plastic surgery; the clarity of her eyes is not plastic surgery - this is a woman who takes care of herself and it shows. Sure she has had work done but to maintain your looks beyond 40 takes a commitment to health & knowing what works for you.

I think she looks wonderful and natural the tight look that so many of the stars have is a shame it changes the shape of their eyes and really the whole look is not flattering.
