Johnny Depp - Then And Now
Johnny Depp has the best plastic surgeon ever, because you can’t tell he has had anything done. He definitely didn’t get the too tight Hollywood facelift. Maybe those threadlift rumors are true.

I think he has had surgery but it’s been very subtle – either that or through extremely good genes he’s aged very finely.

It’s got to be good surgery. The man smokes like a chimney. There’s no way his skin would look so great with the habit he’s got.

If he’s had surgery it’s great! Because he still looks like himself.

And yet, Depp’s forehead is higher and is hairline more receded at the temples in the left pic where he’s younger.

He has had at least one facelift. Anyone familiar with facelifts can spot it very quickly. One giveaway – no sideburns anymore.

Depp is said to suffer from severe tinymeat (less than 6 inches long).
Discuss!

It looks like just Botox to me.

has it ever occured to anyone that he hasn’t had anything done yet? Maybe a botox shot here and there, nothing more? some people age very well.

Well, it’s clear that he has had some minor touch ups here and there. But not any major ones… Forehead slightly receded, some minor alterations towards the eye.

A receding forehead? I think you mean a receding hairline, exposing more forehead. That’s the aging process, not plastic surgery.

He smokes like a chimney? He can blow his smoke up my chimney anyday, or drop down my chimney dressed as Santa Claus, whatever. When I saw him portray Sweeney Todd, I realized how great the depth of his acting skill is. Prior to seeing that movie, I dismissed him as a flake. The smoking may catch up with him suddenly, as it often does, and then he’ll need work done. AT the moment I think the work has been extremely minimal, maintenance-type things. Look how long it took Clint Eastwood to look ‘old’. I have a feeling he also is a heavy smoker. Eastwood didn’t resort to the scalpel until he was in his very late sixties.

@Arabella
Great depth of acting skill, seriously? The guy plays the same character with the same voice over and over again. He is never bad -except for the terrible “Libertine”- and never very good either: a constant C+ to B-.

No-one who smokes that much ages that well without surgery. And you can tell he’s a heavy smoker because he’s almost always got a cigarette in his hand in photos. There are more celebrities that smoke than you realize, but plenty of them are careful enough not to be photographed or interviwed while doing so.

He has plastic surgery…the signs are obvious…but the webmaster of this site has such a serious mancrush on Depp that he fails to see the differences as some of the astute readers here have commented on.

I don’t think the “now” picture is recent, but you can see from the “then” picture that he’s never had sideburns. Sparse facial hair, must be the Indian thing.

@ Creed Bratton
Arabella has nailed it, he was very good in Sweeney Todd, but the other earlier stuff and especially the new stuff is pretty much crap. Oh wait, freaky Edward Scissorhands, yikes.

I don’t think he’s had anything done, personally. It is possible for people over 40 to look good without surgery! You don’t automatically turn into a sack of wrinkles on your fortieth birthday, especially if you have taken care of yourself in youth. Men in particualar have thicker skin that holds up better. Johnny looks fantastic. He in fact, looks better as a mature grown up man.
