Wow, two celebrities caught ageing naturally in one year. Julia Ormond was born in 1965 and showed up at a film premiere bearing all her years. Her facial skin is heavily lined. I have never had the impression that she is sunworshipper, perhaps she is a heavy smoker. Julia is 43 years old. I do think her skin is highly aged looking considering her birth date.
What could she do to have fewer wrinkles? Her wrinkles are deep, I don’t think that botox or peels would work here. She’d have to get a facelift.

December 15th, 2008 - 12:14 pm
Why should she get rid of her wrinkles? I mean, that was her life her joy, her tears, why should she vanish all this? I think its wonderful that she shows who she is with pride.- To me she is beautiful
December 15th, 2008 - 6:29 pm
Im 43 and dont even have wrinkles never had botox or eney plastic durgery at all. She has alot of sun damage she looks 60,
December 15th, 2008 - 7:03 pm
Have these pictures been doctored? She looks way more wrinkled than the average 43 y/o. She has the wrinkles of someone approaching 60.
December 15th, 2008 - 8:00 pm
Hate to burst your bubble, but most forty-three yearolds are not that “naturally” heavily lined.
December 15th, 2008 - 8:22 pm
This barely looks like her. I can’t believe how many wrinkles she has. My mom is 6 years older than her and looks nothing like that.
December 16th, 2008 - 4:38 am
She looks very odd, maybe she had a facelift and the skin never attached again. But she has beautiful eyes, they really sparkle!
December 16th, 2008 - 7:29 am
Various Internet postings say Ms. Ormond began smoking at the age of 13 and was addicted for a long time. She may have quit. The pictures are a very good example of how longtime smoking can dramatically affect your skin — yet another excellent reason to quit or not start in the first place.
December 16th, 2008 - 10:45 am
this must be photoshopped. She could not possibly look that old even in harsh light. She stil is beautiful, though, I remember her from “Sabrina” and “Legends of the Fall”
December 16th, 2008 - 7:30 pm
Poor Julia! I saw her at a comedy club years ago and she was chain smoking then, so perhaps that is the cause here.
I’ve always thought she was beautiful, but her nose is odd. That’s a nose job, right? Looks like an implant on the tip.
December 17th, 2008 - 12:56 pm
Is it possible she lied about her age and is actually quite older? I just can’t believe these pictures.
December 17th, 2008 - 5:17 pm
Why didn’t you guys show her breasts? I want to know if they are still firm or are just as saggy as her face. I saw her on an episode of CSI NY and she looked good, but then again the cameras never did a closeup like the pictures found here. Keep up the good work. I enjoy your work!
December 18th, 2008 - 2:58 am
I cant recognize her
December 19th, 2008 - 3:16 am
Wow, I just love the lines and wrinkles. It’s beautiful!
December 19th, 2008 - 9:31 pm
they dont look right, her shoulders and decolletage look younger, they look photo shopped. but so does Rach Zoe and she really does look like the crypt Keeper at 37
December 20th, 2008 - 3:30 pm
She’s absolutely stunning.
December 21st, 2008 - 2:17 pm
She would lose a lot if she got rid of her wrinkles. They make her face so interesting.
December 23rd, 2008 - 2:02 am
She’s one of those rare women who’s face is enhanced by age. I agree with Kat, I thought she was a boring beauty 10//15 years ago now I think she’s stunning & extremely sexy.
December 23rd, 2008 - 8:22 am
Wrinkles or no, she looks more beautiful than ever, to me. If that’s how things ended up, I say she should go with it.
December 23rd, 2008 - 2:03 pm
Ya, my mom is 51 and she doesn’t look that wrinkled. How come Reba McEntire isn’t on this site? She looks fantastic!
December 23rd, 2008 - 3:51 pm
I’m 49 and don’t have wrinkles anywhere near that. Smoking will wrinkle you like that, but I think she would have more wrinkles around her mouth if that were the direct cause.
December 24th, 2008 - 3:09 am
I don’t think these pictures are photo shopped because if you look at other recent photos of her on imdb.com, you’ll see that her face is indeed heavily lined. I can’t believe she’s only 43! My mom is 54 and doesn’t look like that. I never thought smoking could cause that much damage to one’s skin. I’m glad I don’t smoke. She is still pretty, though.
December 24th, 2008 - 5:47 pm
this is really weird to me…my mom is 55 and has WAY less wrinkles (without any enhancements) and was someone who slathered herself in baby oil out in the california sun everyday. her face looks like my grandmothers…there is just no elasticity in it..
December 24th, 2008 - 5:48 pm
are you sure these aren’t photoshopped? look how smooth and young the skin on her shoulders and chest looks…
December 27th, 2008 - 8:32 pm
Please, these pics are obviously photoshopped. My mom is 64 and nowhere as wrinkled as this lady is. Look at her chest.
December 28th, 2008 - 6:38 am
Maybe the cause for all her wrinkles is menopause?
December 28th, 2008 - 6:46 pm
she is a smoker that is why she looks older than she is
December 29th, 2008 - 1:17 pm
Those photos have been photoshopped to add wrinkles. Don’t know why someone would do that. But I attended the Benjamin Button junket and interviewed Julia. She have anything like that number of wrinkles in person. She had a few, but she looked natural and age appropriate. I promise you, someone is pulling a fast one. I usually like GPS, but you need to be more careful about being duped.
December 29th, 2008 - 1:20 pm
oops, meant to say she DIDN’T have anything like that number of wrinkles. These photos are completely doctored. I’ve seen her. I know.
December 29th, 2008 - 5:33 pm
No! – she does not ‘have to get a facelift’. I have no idea who this woman is – and yes, I do agree for 43 her skin looks rather aged (but 40 000 flash bulbs never helps) but she looks fun and real – Ms Ormond, please don’t succumb to the big evil Hollywood plastic surgeon you are beautiful as you are!!
December 29th, 2008 - 5:44 pm
Speaking as a dermatologist….smoking for 30 years can do that to you for sure! For those who made comments about this being photoshopped and her upper lip not being lined, you just need to go see “The curious case of Benjamin Button”. One look at her there and all the lines on her upper lip and you know she is a smoker! Rarely is an unenhanced 43 year old looking like this. DON’T SMOKE!!
December 30th, 2008 - 9:02 pm
I’m 52, a woman and a smoker and I don’t have anywhere near that kind of wrinkling.
My 81 year old mom bears a striking resemblence to Julia – at least in the wrinkle department.
December 30th, 2008 - 9:03 pm
I think she’s more beautiful now. She was too bland before.
December 31st, 2008 - 1:43 am
When she was younger you could see deep lines when she emoted so you could tell she was going to wrinkle early and heavily. Some people just have that kind of skin. I am suprised that it is this much this early, but I guess smoking helped that along. I also agree she is still beautiful, even with the wrinkles.
January 2nd, 2009 - 3:09 pm
LOOK, whether it’s POSSIBLE for a 43-year-old woman’s skin to look like that is not the point. The point is, HER skin does NOT look like that in person. I was in a press conference with her less than a month ago. Somebody has it in for this lady and used a little computer magic to degrade her image. I’m not saying she didn’t have any wrinkles, but she didn’t look ANYTHING like those photos!
January 2nd, 2009 - 6:08 pm
This is harsh light and a fully heavily made up face for an event (makeup makes you look more wrinkled as you get older – it’s the powder that is needed for the photos – to cut glare and set the makeup). She does not look this wrinkled in real life. I’ve seen her, this is not how she looks.
January 2nd, 2009 - 9:23 pm
I don’t know if someone here watch ”Curious case of Benjamin Button” but she don’t look like this ! Her skin looked perfect and she still look like if she had 35… maybe it’s because she wear a lot of make-up in theses pics ?
You can email me if you have more infos: gilnor83@hotmail.com
January 2nd, 2009 - 11:04 pm
So,some of you think she needs surgery?? I think she is beautiful just the way she is. True,I am 53 and don’t have as many wrinkles as her,and believe me I lived a hard life. But who cares. Are we judging women by their wrinkles now? If she likes the way she looks, then more power to her and to the wrinkles of life!
January 3rd, 2009 - 10:31 am
she looks awful, much older than she is
January 3rd, 2009 - 12:46 pm
Shes gorgeous in the first two, and always is. I believe the last picture was photo shopped. i just dont believe it!
sorrry!
January 5th, 2009 - 9:40 am
she looks beautiful like a natural human being should.
January 11th, 2009 - 3:38 pm
I am suspicious that these are touched-up photographs. I am 43 (just 10 months younger than Julia) and I have no wrinkles.
Of course i have never smoked, do not drink, have used sunscreen on my face, neck, hands, arms religiously since I was in my 20’s, do peels, face exercies, etc, but still, I am very suspiciosu that we are the same age and we look this much different.
besides, look at how young her neck, chest and arms look!
January 13th, 2009 - 2:23 am
I think you are thinking like sukrat, but I think you should cover the other side of the topic in the post too…
January 15th, 2009 - 9:56 am
I work in the film industry, so I can say with certainty that most actors lie about their age. Ninety percent of female actors are at least 3-5 years older than they claim to be. In most cases, they can get away with it because they have top of the line beauty products & procedures available to them. Julie Ormond is definitely older that reported … so her wrinkles make more sense for someone closer to 50.
January 15th, 2009 - 6:34 pm
I am amazed with it. It is a good thing for my research. Thanks
January 18th, 2009 - 4:20 pm
It’s amazing how women, actresses her age have horrible skin from their necks down while her faces are quite personable and Julia seems to be the exact opposite case: there are so many women who would kill to have her neckline and shoulders at 43 and yet…
January 26th, 2009 - 3:11 pm
I really wouldn’t be surprised if these photos were 100% real if she smoked, One of my mum’s friends is in her early forties and smokes constantly and is more lined than this woman. My mum is fifty and has barely a line on her face but she has also never smoked.
January 28th, 2009 - 11:06 am
She is shockingly aged for her years. She may have dry skin that she did not take care of or it looks like she abused herself by smoking or frying in the sun. Those are 2 things to stay away from if you want to age gracefully. I am 5 years older than her but look 20 years younger. That is NOT normal aging!
January 29th, 2009 - 12:21 pm
I hear what Megan is saying about seeing her up close, but it’s possible that the flashes highlighted the crevices in the photos in a way that wasn’t so blatant in real life. Photos can be nasty like that.
Her skin actually looks very poreless, which indicates a very fine skin – ie one more likely to wrinkle early. Even in the top photos you can see faint traces of the lines shown in the (shocking) bottom one so it’s unlikely a photoshop job. Fair play to her that she clearly doesn’t care. But then she’s still stunning.
I work with someone just turned 30 who has lines getting on for these – an ex-smoker. Genetics play their part, but smoking clearly really damns you.
January 30th, 2009 - 2:22 pm
I always enjoyed Julia Ormond’s movies. She is a very good actress and a very natural one. But, I too was shocked
to see these pictures, but my shock was even greater when I saw her (the camera showed her on live feed), at the most recent awards show, I think it was the Golden Globes. And she is indeed wrinkled. I could not believe it was the same person of a few years back. Most women in their early forties are not wrinkled like that; so I do not know what may have happened. Some people have “thin” skins, which tend to wrinkle easier than others the same age. That may have been her case, along with smoking, sun-damage (perhaps), etc. In any instance, she is a beautiful woman and a talented one. But, those wrinkles are indeed very deep and are not representative of a woman in her 40’s.
February 3rd, 2009 - 10:52 pm
Julia and I are the same age..and I look nothing like that. I think it is the smoking maybe..or she has bad skin genes. I am really startled by how horrible she looks. I noticed it in the Benjamin Buttons movie where she plays the grown kid of Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett…
I guess we all just age differently. She has fared worse than most..but I bet she does not care as she counts her millions..
This is just not the typical look for a 43 yo or a 44 yo..even if she is caucasian
February 5th, 2009 - 4:51 pm
this bitch must smoke like crazy.
February 10th, 2009 - 1:41 pm
Holy moly! Either this is photoshopped or she is doing something terribly wrong to her body. This is not normal aging.
February 15th, 2009 - 10:09 pm
those are photoshopped. the rest of the skin that you can see is flawless, especially her neck. wouldn’t there be some wrinkling there as well?
February 22nd, 2009 - 1:04 pm
I think she looks lovely. It takes a lot of inner confidence, comfort and happiness to go without cosmetic surgery whenin the public eye. I think her face is refreshingly expressive and smiley and still very attractive.
February 22nd, 2009 - 1:06 pm
… also, she hasnt been ‘;flash’ photod. the light is coming from an angle which really exaggerates her lines… just like if i position a lamp to my side I can convince myself I have a six pack
February 24th, 2009 - 1:09 pm
She isn’t aging well. I see her on CSI NY and she looks terrible. Is goodplasticurgery lowering its standard? You can see the prominent wrinkles on her face in the posted pics. Seems to me someone has turned a blind eye to Miss Ormonds’ obvious imperfections.
February 25th, 2009 - 2:27 am
These aren’t faked or shopped, just google “Benjamin Button premiere HQs” and there are bunches of other pics that show the same deep wrinkling. That’s what smoking and sun worship does to a person. On the other hand, someone like Maura Tierney, who is Julia Ormond’s age and a a heavy smoker, has amazing skin. Luck of the draw.
February 27th, 2009 - 3:53 pm
I am 44 and she has more wrinkles than me or my mother!!!
Listen to your mothers and grandmothers…. don’t smoke and stay out of the sun!
February 28th, 2009 - 1:09 pm
She does look very wrinkled. To all you gals in your 20s who love to tan, this is what awaits you. I have had this happen to friends, and it sneaks up extremely quickly. One minutes there saying all the usual stuff about loving the sun and all that and you see them a few months later and it’s all wrinkles, sags and blotchy skin. Uneven pigmentation is a real problem as you get older (I’m 43) but you don’t see that in celebrity pics because of the heavy makeup.
And no cream or surgery can do much about it.
March 9th, 2009 - 11:02 am
Those photos have been photo-shopped. You can see a drastic difference from the first to the second to the third. Not nice– this site has been educational for me in the past to figure out what things look like. Postings like this are not helpful and not appreciated. Poor form.
March 9th, 2009 - 3:55 pm
Wow. She looks good to me. Maybe it is so rare to see natural faces, that I am actually intrigued. Maybe celebrities should get plastic surgery to put wrinkles on their faces. But, seriously, people age differently. I had a friend that was very saggy and wrinkled at 39. I think Julia looks stunning. I am sick of looking at botoxed faces.
March 12th, 2009 - 1:05 am
The last picture is a sad combination of heavy makeup/bad lighting…. NOT photoshop. She DOES look that wrinkled! I also work in the industry and can tell you that much! Look here: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2339/2426838025_f90e475380.jpg
Google image some more and you’ll find more examples, such as during her recent (late 2008) Cannes appearance, where I worked with her…. Genetics, sun, and years of heavy smoking sure took their toll… she is a very friendly person, tho!
March 14th, 2009 - 6:48 pm
Maybe she had a hysterectomy early on in her life. That can put you into early menopause and halt your skins ability to be elastic.
March 30th, 2009 - 11:56 am
Most of the sun damage we incur is exposure to the sun in our childhood. However, sun exposure in adulthood brings this damage to the surface in the form of wrinkles, sunspots etc. I’ve seen smokers who are 30, saw one at the local pharmacy here…….. the skin on her body and its firmness were very good; that of a 25 year old. However, her face was wrinkled like that of a 65 year old. I kid you not!
Kids need to be protected when they’re outside, regardless of whether it is sunny or not because the sun is ALWAYS out. Most parents don’t apply enough sunscreen, the adequate SPF factor and don’t reapply it after the correct amount of time. They also expose their children to the sunlight during the peak hours of the sun being harmful. Now, as you get older, you can make it worse by not using sunscreen as mentioned above but also by smoking and other factors.
And to those who think her body looks great for a 43 year old, you should get out more. I know 50 and 60s with bodies like fit 30 year olds. If you actually look at event pictures, she’s not in great shape in terms of firmness and toneness. Her skin is pendulous in many areas. Of course, you could be fit cardiovascularly and not show it. Looks can be deceiving.
Smoking is so harmful in so many ways, even to second hand smokers. People who smoke should be condemned to their own area where they can’t make people sick. Smoking kills. That matters more than premature aging. You don’t die from wrinkles.
April 1st, 2009 - 9:41 pm
So she has some wrinkles at 43….BFD. She either smoked or spent frequent time in smoke filled rooms. It happens, but the woman doesn’t look like she has one foot in the grave. And there’s nothing wrong with her figure per se…..many people are either hard to please, jealous or have VERY exacting standards. But, as one wise person once said many years ago…..there is no accounting for taste. Not all of us can be the epitomy of the “Logan’s Run” fantasy…that’s life. Hell, if she gets a divorce and doesn’t mind a working man’s salary….I’ll date her!
April 3rd, 2009 - 6:55 am
I’m almost wrinkle free and I’m 46 years old. The fact that Julia has these wrinkles mean nothing because she’s effing gorgeous AS IS. Has anyone in Hollywood know what “natural beauty” is? Julia shows hers nicely, I hope she stays this way….untouched!
April 14th, 2009 - 10:33 pm
I kind of think that it’s been altered a tad, but she looked sort of ragged in other photos that I’ve seen. I still think that she’s attractive, although it’s making me want to quit smoking…. after this pack………
April 16th, 2009 - 12:03 pm
I think this is beautiful. THIS IS HOW REAL PEOPLE ARE! THIS IS WHAT THEIR FACES LOOK LIKE!!!! Face lifts, botox, plastic… ew. It’s all FAKE! It almost always LOOKS fake! I think that she looks beautiful! My mom is seven years older than her, and she has half of the wrinkles. But she is still beautiful just as she is. She hasn’t had any surgery done, and I think that she looks amazing. Plastic surgery is crap.
April 16th, 2009 - 7:25 pm
I suspect that she is one of the many actresses who are much older than they say they are. There is NO WAY she is 43. I would say she is AT LEAST 10 years older than that. Look at Salma Hayek for example – Salma is 42 and has NO wrinkling at all! I don’t care how much someone smokes, it’s not going to wrinkle your skin that prematurely and neither does the sun. Sunshine is GOOD for you as long as you don’t BURN. There is a reason why our body makes Vitamin D from sun exposure.
May 10th, 2009 - 7:17 am
I agree with Alex. Wrinkles that show character are good.
June 12th, 2009 - 5:41 pm
That is NOT aging naturally. Yes, wrinkles are normal when you are that age but she looks like she could easily be 60. Yes she is pretty, talented and blah blah blah but being that wrinkled when you are THAT young is not normal. Sun damage? never seen her with a tan. Drugs? smoking? alcohol? maybe, who knows. Perhaps an illness we don’t know about? These pictures actually sadden me. I am only 5 years younger than her, plastic surgery free other than the monthly facial and she looks like she could be my mother!
June 13th, 2009 - 10:07 am
As long as she is happy, I guess that is all that matters but she looks CONSIDERABLY older than my friends & family in their forties and fifties–and maybe even a few in their sixties. Curious what did cause this–bad genes, hormonal problems, sun exposure, smoking or spending lots of time in smoke-filled bars, etc.??
June 22nd, 2009 - 12:46 am
These aren’t photoshopped. My mother-in-law is a smoker, and at age 48 the wrinkles just seemed to show up on her all at once, and they just get deeper and deeper (she’s 64 now). If for no other reason, quit smoking for your vanity’s sake! WOW. Julia was so beautiful once. Take a look at Helen Hunt. She looks just as old now.
October 16th, 2009 - 2:54 pm
Its so sad. She played leading lady in legends of the fall, a woman so beautiful that all three handsome brothers fall for her. Then she had a small role in benjamin button where she just reads a diary. She looked radiant opposite Brad pitt in the first movie and well dont know what happened to her after all these years. Did she just let herself go?. Plastic surgery should never become an obsession but i think for her it would be a great help. Thats what technology is for so we can benefit when we most need it.
October 23rd, 2009 - 9:04 am
With all due respect, I’d like to correct a point here.
A face lift is not the correct procedure for wrinkles . . . not even extensive or deep ones. This is a huge misconception. If you had a wrinkled shirt, you wouldn’t just pull it taut to get the wrinkles out. Same thing goes for a face lift. One may see an initial reduction in wrinkles, but it doesn’t last and leads to inferior surgery results. A face lift is only ideal for correcting sagging skin, not wrinkled skin.
A more ideal solution for removing wrinkles would be laser resurfacing or a chemical peel.
In any case, “beautiful” is a relative term, and people may just have to agree to disagree on this one.
October 23rd, 2009 - 4:35 pm
I’m 43 and people think I’m in late 20’s. i never smoke and wear sunscreen religiously! this looks like serious sun tanning and smoking problem. My mom is gonna be 65 in a few months and looks younger than the woman in this picture.
